BACKGROUND

With more than 30 years in the legal industry, Karl Molineux is a professional mediator, special master and discovery referee. He is noted for his effective mediating of complex multi-party construction disputes, non-complex construction disputes, contract disputes, business disputes, real estate disputes and premises liability disputes.

Mr. Molineux previously enjoyed an active litigation practice handling cases for defendants and plaintiffs in a variety of areas, including breach of contract, business, construction, construction defect, insurance bad faith, insurance coverage, negligence, premises liability and real estate. The emphasis of his litigation practice was on complex construction defect cases, where Mr. Molineux represented commercial building owners, general contractors, subcontractors, homeowners, homeowner’s associations, hospitals and Indian casinos. 

 

​Mr. Molineux enjoys a full time ADR practice and works with clients in person as well as virtually. He has been trained as both a facilitative and an evaluative mediator.  He is a member of the faculty of the London School of Mediation where he teaches facilitative mediation. Mr. Molineux is also a member of the Society of Construction Law, the International Mediation Institute, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Dispute Resolution Section of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Molineux has served as a guest speaker on construction law, dispute resolution and real estate issues before numerous organizations including the Community Associations Institute, the Delta Association of Realtors, the Forensic Expert Witness Association, the National Indian Casino Safety Association and the Western Construction Consultants Association.
 
Mr. Molineux has also published articles on real estate and construction matters and was the contributing editor for the California section of the 2011 Cumulative Supplement to the Handling Construction Defect Claims: Western States textbook.

 

Mr. Molineux is presently a panelist and faculty member of the London School of Mediation.  As a faculty member he assists with the teaching and training of mediators in the field of facilitative mediation.
